Per Diem Status
Overall Responsibility:
Provides radiology assistance for the physician during the surgical case. Ensures correct performance of radiological services, including maintaining patient and staff safety. Maintains required records on radiological equipment/services according to policy and procedure and standards of care.
Key tasks and responsibilities (essential functions)
1. Responsible for preparing, guiding, and manipulating radiological equipment for surgical cases.
2. Assist the physician with surgical cases to provide radiology views as may be required.
3. Inform the Clinical Nurse Supervisor and the Materials Manager of issues relating to the performance of the radiology equipment.
4. Demonstrate the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follow procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
5. Demonstrate the importance of continuing education to the performance of responsibilities and growth in profession.
6. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment according to surgical standards.
7. Other duties as may be assigned.
Licensure and Certification: Radiology Technologist with both national certification and Arizona certification required. BCLS required.
Experience required: High School Diploma or equivalent with some college course work preferred. Completion of radiology training at approved training facility required. Minimum one year experience as radiology technician required.
Environmental and physical requirements - Candidate must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, have cognitive skills for math, reading, filing and sterile technique skills. Communication skills to deal well with employees and physicians. Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation. Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch. Job requires physical ability for long term standing, occasional sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching with reaching above head and below waist. Job risk include exposure to blood and body fluids (high), contact with chemicals, lifting of 30 - 75 pounds, and exposure to infectious disease.
